Garden Bistro is a bustling Asian fusion restaurant nestled on Fullerton Road in Rowland Heights, known for its blend of Chinese, Japanese, and Western influences that reflect the diverse local palate. The dining room tends to fill up quickly, especially during mid-morning and evening hours, a sign of its steady popularity among both families and groups of friends looking for a casual yet satisfying meal.

The atmosphere here feels lively and straightforward, leaning more on practical comfort than on formal dining. It's the kind of spot where you'll see a mix of working professionals grabbing a late lunch, families enjoying a weekend dinner, and older locals reminiscing over Cantonese-style classics. Service can get busy during peak times, but the staff remain attentive enough to keep things moving smoothly.

The menu stands out for offering hearty, generous portions that bridge traditional comfort food with unexpected twists. Dishes like preserved egg with pork porridge anchor the experience in Cantonese roots, while items such as wild mushroom truffle arugula pizza or sea urchin udon showcase their fusion spirit. Sharing plates like deep-fried chicken wings with X.O. sauce or baked green mussels in smelt roe fit well if you're dining in a group and want to sample a range of flavors.

Garden Bistro works well as a reliable spot for Asian-American cravings that cover a broad spectrum—from classic noodle dishes like beef chow fun to slices of prosciutto burrata arugula pizza. It’s also a practical choice for later dinners, with most kitchens open well into the evening, retaining steady energy long after many local eateries close. Those who appreciate mixing familiar tastes with some inventive combinations will find satisfying variety here.

Expect a casual, no-frills environment that puts the focus on solid food and generous portions rather than atmosphere or presentation. If you’re looking for a place where you can comfortably linger over a filling meal or come through for a quick, flavorful bite, Garden Bistro fits that role well in the Rowland Heights dining scene.

Chinese food for breakfast? They got it. Western food? They got that too. And both are equally well-made, bound to satisfy the Asian American cravings My friend and I arrived around 10:30 AM and this place was PACKED. We managed to get the last open table without waiting, and I could see why this place is so popular. Shrimp omelette 10/10. Hash brown 10/10. The best part? Pancakes 200/10. These were legitimately the best, softest, fluffiest pancakes I've ever eaten in my life, and I normally don't like pancakes. But I could eat all of these without syrup or sugar and it won't feel like I'm eating a Popeye's biscuit. So good!

Bistro Garden is a Chinese American style place. Good selection of Chinese, Japanese, American and pizza! Generous portions at a reasonable price compared to fast food! Gets crowded. Stays open till 10pm. Not many places stay open late anymore since the pandemic. Got the duck pizza! It was good surprisingly!

There doesn’t seem to be too many good Cantonese Restaurants anymore. I think so many have closed down since the pandemic. Good to still see this place, our second time here, and it is just packed as before. They are quite busy so I wouldn’t expect to have top notch service, but the lady that helped us was attentive and made sure to get what we needed. It is always good to have people there that know what food they have. The place isn’t too big, but we were able to be seated towards the back in a smaller room. Food We always get the baked bolognese if the place has it, and it did not disappoint here. We also had the vermicelli, lamb chops with black pepper sauce with a side of fried rice. The lamb chops was not gamey at all and was seasoned really well. We also tried the grilled chicken pork combo with mushroom sauce, but we liked the pork feet and lamb chops a bit better. Would say it hits the spot for Cantonese food. Usually don’t really like coming to this plaza due to the parking, but I would come back to get my Cantonese food craving again. Until next time !

Love their chicken steak, beef ribs and pork feet. Well cook, nice potion and reasonable price. Free refill on the drink you order.
